Thank you Disney for inviting me down and hosting me during the Fancy Nancy and #Ant-Man and the Wasp press junket.

We had the pleasure to interview Krista Tucker who was the developer of Fancy Nancy and she was in charge of taking the books and bringing them vision in animation. She is currently the head writer and editor. We also were able to chat with /Jamie Mitchell who is the executive producer and director.

I have two daughter and they were raised on Fancy Nancy. These books were the go to books that I read to them every night and the girls first independent reads that they were able to do on their own. This series holds a special place in my heart because it is so personal.

Here are a few fun facts that I learned throughout the interview and reasons you are going to love the Fancy Nancy series on Disney Jr.

• Disney has been wanting to work with Fancy Nancy for about 10 years, once they approached the author the partnership moved very fast.
• They have 25 original song available on spotify and itunes
• Mia Sinclair Jenness is the voice of Nancy and when she records in NY, they sometimes take pictures and integrate them into the animation

• Only 2 of the episode are straight from the book, the remainder are originals and that is the course they plan to stay with.
• They are big believers in co-viewing and made it very purposeful to make this show humorous and enjoyable to the parents
• The colors are spectacular! They use 3 dimensional heighten reality. In fact Nancy has 236 texture areas on her head
• You will hopefully soon see Fancy Nancy walking around Disney
• Nancy and Bree have a “real” relationship with fights and compromise
• The hired an expert to make sure their french annunciation and translation are correct
