My husband and I have never been on a romantic adult vacation just the two of us. So, with our 25th anniversary just around the corner, I thought it was time to do a little something for ourselves. While on my research quest, I found the usual suspects… Hawaii, Cabo, Cancun, Bahamas. But I wanted something that was fresh and new to us, something that would feel special. I stumbles upon New Caledonia. Has anyone heard of it or visited?
New Caledonia is a French territory comprising dozens of islands in the South Pacific. It’s known for its palm-lined beaches and marine-life-rich lagoon. From all of the photos that I have seen….. I don’t think that the water could get more piercing green.
Our Anniversary is in August, this is great news for us because while researching, I have found that the best time to travel (warm and dry) would be August through November.
A massive barrier reef surrounds the main island which makes this an ideal destination for snorkeling and scuba diving! Other activities at New Caledonia include shopping, dancing, turtle watching, kayaking, casinos, aquariums and the most amazing food you will ever taste.
Getting there is easy with Air Calin but expect a LONG flight. Flights will be about 20 hours, in air! So grab a book, plan you trip, soak up some sunshine and make memories that will last a lifetime in New Caledonia.
