If you are looking to experience something truly magical this Holiday season…. then the place to go this holiday season is Great Wolf Lodge! We just came back from our stay at the Grand Mound location and I have to say, it even made my husband and I feel like a kid again. Not a detail is left untouched….. the snow, smell of gingerbread, kids activities, delicious Holiday treats and oooh…. the lights, they were so captivating.
This was out first visit to the Great wolf lodge and now… certainly not our last. Our whole family had a blast… from the baby to the teenagers. The water and slides were so much fun that time just seemed to fly by….and don’t worry if you have one that is a little scared of the the water (like we had) there are so many water activities that they will surely find something they are comfortable with and have a blast doing it. The one thing that I didn’t expect was this fun activity called Magic Quest. Kids buy these magical wands and game booklets, then proceed all around the hotel uncovering magical treasures and making things come to life. This was great for kids of all ages…. the little ones had fun waving their wands at things during the day, while the big kids went and played strategically at night while I was putting the little ones to bed.
One of the most amazing events going on is their life size gingerbread house.
The walls, doors and features of each Gingerbread House will be painstakingly baked with REAL gingerbread, iced, candied and sugared on a grand scale. It is built to wow as many as six guests as they step inside to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. But the sweetest feature? Proceeds from all seatings inside the Gingerbread Houses will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Great Wolf’s charity of choice. There is even a cozy fireplace and decorated Christmas tree to finish off this story book atmosphere. This would be a once in a life time memory for the young and old ….. and helping out a very good cause at the same time.
