Portland theater lovers, it’s officially time to mark your calendars.

Broadway in Portland has unveiled its highly anticipated 2026–2027 season at the iconic Keller Auditorium — and this lineup is stacked with award-winners, pop-culture powerhouses, breathtaking spectacle, and beloved classics that will have the Rose City buzzing from summer through spring.

From Alicia Keys’ electrifying Broadway hit to the wizarding world of Harry Potter, from circus romance to Greaser grit, from Disney magic to Rodgers & Hammerstein nostalgia — this season truly has something for everyone.

Subscription renewals begin Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with new subscriptions available later this spring. Theater fans can sign up for the waitlist at BroadwayinPortland.com.

Now let’s break down what’s coming to Portland — because this season deserves a spotlight of its own.

ALICIA KEYS’ HELL’S KITCHEN

July 14 – 19, 2026

The season kicks off with serious energy.

Created and inspired by 17-time Grammy® Award winner Alicia Keys, HELL’S KITCHEN is a powerful coming-of-age musical set in the vibrant New York City neighborhood that shaped her.

At the center of the story is Ali, a fiery 17-year-old searching for independence, identity, and her own voice. The show blends Alicia Keys’ biggest hits with brand-new music written specifically for the stage, delivering an emotionally charged, high-octane theatrical experience.

Raw, relatable, and full of heart, HELL’S KITCHEN celebrates self-discovery, ambition, and the people who lift us higher. It’s a bold, modern start to what promises to be an unforgettable season.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

August 1 – 15, 2026

IT’S TIME TO BELIEVE IN MAGIC.

The record-breaking, Tony Award®-winning theatrical event, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, brings the wizarding world to life in spectacular fashion.

Set years after the original series, the story follows Harry Potter’s son, Albus, whose unexpected friendship with Draco Malfoy’s son sets off a time-twisting adventure with consequences that ripple through past and future alike.

Winner of six Tony Awards®, including Best Play, this production is known for its jaw-dropping stagecraft and theatrical illusions that leave audiences asking, “How did they do that?”

Portland will have two full weeks to experience the magic firsthand — and trust me, this one will sell fast.

WATER FOR ELEPHANTS

September 29 – October 4, 2026

The bestselling novel leaps from page to stage in a sweeping, visually stunning musical adaptation of Water for Elephants.

After a devastating loss, a young man impulsively jumps onto a moving train and finds himself swept into the world of a traveling circus. What unfolds is a story of resilience, reinvention, love, and the extraordinary community found under the big top.

Praised by The New York Times as “gorgeously imaginative,” this production combines emotional storytelling with breathtaking theatrical spectacle. It’s a reminder that life can begin again — at any age — if you dare to take the ride.

THE OUTSIDERS

November 17 – 24, 2026

Winner of four 2024 Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, The Outsiders arrives in Portland this fall.

Based on S.E. Hinton’s classic novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic film, the musical transports audiences to 1967 Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and their Greaser family struggle to find belonging in a divided world.

With a dynamic original score and emotionally charged storytelling, THE OUTSIDERS explores identity, loyalty, friendship, and hope — reminding us there’s still “lots of good in the world.”

This one is gritty, moving, and deeply resonant.

DISNEY’S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

January 5 – 10, 2027

Be Our Guest.

Beauty and the Beast returns to the road in its first North American touring production in over 25 years — and it’s been reimagined with dazzling new sets and costumes.

Featuring the Oscar®-winning and Tony-nominated score by Alan Menken and Tim Rice, audiences can expect beloved songs like “Be Our Guest” and “Beauty and the Beast” delivered with renewed grandeur.

This fresh production reunites members of the original Tony Award®-winning creative team, bringing timeless Disney magic back to the Keller stage.

Perfect for families — and anyone who still believes in happily ever after.

HADESTOWN (Season Option)

January 26 – 31, 2027

COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.

The hauntingly beautiful Hadestown returns as the 2026–2027 Season Option.

Winner of eight Tony Awards® including Best Musical, this genre-blending masterpiece intertwines the mythic love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice with Hades and Persephone.

With music, lyrics, and book by Anaïs Mitchell and direction by Rachel Chavkin, HADESTOWN is both intimate and epic — a poetic meditation on love, sacrifice, and hope in uncertain times.

Note: A completed season subscription is required to purchase the Season Option. It is not automatically included in subscription packages.

CLUE

March 2 – 7, 2027

A mansion. A murder. A mystery.

Based on the cult-favorite 1985 Paramount Pictures film and inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue explodes onto the stage in this fast-paced, laugh-out-loud theatrical whodunit.

Six mysterious guests. One dramatic evening. Endless twists.

Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study? Colonel Mustard in the library?

Packed with physical comedy, sharp dialogue, and nonstop surprises, CLUE promises to keep Portland audiences guessing — and laughing — until the final reveal.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

May 11 – 16, 2027

Closing the season is one of the most beloved musicals of all time: The Sound of Music.

For 65 years, this Rodgers & Hammerstein masterpiece has enchanted audiences with its unforgettable story of Maria and the von Trapp family.

Directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O’Brien, this acclaimed North American tour features iconic songs like “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and “Edelweiss.”

With universal themes of love, resilience, and the transformative power of music, THE SOUND OF MUSIC is the perfect, heart-warming finale to an extraordinary season.
