Easy ways to find 30 minutes a day for “Me time”

Easy ways to find 30 minutes a day for me time

When was the last time you did something for yourself? If you had to really think about that, then it’s time you start making time for “me time.” Many moms put themselves on the back burner in order to take care of their families. Eventually, this catches up with them and leaves them feeling resentful, stressed, and exhausted. Don’t let this happen. Let’s look at some easy ways to find 30 minutes a day for me time.

Enjoy a Morning Cup of Coffee

Set your alarm to go off 30 minutes earlier so that you can get up and enjoy a cup of coffee in peace. You can watch the sun rise, take a hot shower, watch the news, or listen to a bit of music. Do whatever makes you happy. Those 30 minutes can give you a great start to your day.

Read or Watch TV While Doing Laundry

While the laundry is washing, why not pull up Netflix on your tablet and binge on your favorite show? Add a comfy chair to the laundry room and kick back. Before you know it, laundry will become your favorite way to spend the day.

Listen to an Audio Book While Running Errands or Cleaning

When you’re out running errands, take along an audio book to listen to. As a mom, you know the power of multi-tasking. Why not incorporate the things you enjoy when multi-tasking? You can also listen to an audio book as you clean. No one said you had to be miserable while running errands or cleaning.

Take Yourself Out to Lunch at Least Once a Week

At least once a week, jot it down in your planner that you’re going out to lunch. Go somewhere that your family hates. It’s your me time, so enjoy it. It might be that little vegan place on the corner or that awesome burger place across town that you normally feel guilty eating at.

Partner With Other Parents

Other Moms are in the exact same boat as you….begging for a little time to their selves. Help each other out! Swap sleep overs, date night, after school pick up…..even drop off and pick ups for after school activities.

Indulge In Modern Day Conveniences

With services like Amazon Pantry or Subscribe and Save, you can save time AND money from having to trek down to the big box store for those monthly items. Additionally, services like intacart, Amazon NOW and many local grocery stores can deliver within hours, allowing you focus on yourself for a bit. My favorite splurge is a house cleaner once every two weeks. Having a cleaners is my little luxury to allow me you feel pampered and a little taken care of.

Make Time for a Nap

Another great way to make time for me time is to make time for a nap. For example, once the kids are out the door and on the school bus, lay down and take a nap before starting your day.

Schedule Time to Work on Your Favorite Hobby

YOU should be a priority to yourself. Schedule time to work on your favorite hobby into your planner. When you take time to schedule the things you love, you’ll make time for them.

End the Day with an At-Home Spa Treatment

Last, but not least, at the end of each day, take 30 minutes to treat yourself with an at-home spa treatment. You might give yourself a facial, apply a hair mask, or even take a hot bubble bath. Just make time to take care of yourself.

Me time shouldn’t be a luxury. You deserve to take time for yourself. Do whatever it takes to have 30 minutes of me time each and every day.
