There is something so special about Disney on Ice and I get extremely excited about it every time they come to Portland. Perhaps it is the talented skaters, the wonderful characters that we know and love coming to life or simply my kid’s excitement rubbing off on me. Whatever the case, it is a special event. As you know, Disney on Ice is coming to the Moda Center in Portland from October 19th through the 22nd.
This awesome show is going to cover quite a bit of ground for your family as far as characters.
Everybody loved Finding Dory at the theater and now it is coming to life on ice for the first time. Imagine Dory, Marlin and even a new pal Hank joining Nemo on a great adventure. The kids are going to love it! (So will I.)
I have to admit I am more than a little excited about Snow White showing up with the Dwarfs. I grew up loving them and it makes me so happy inside to see the classic characters. Fantasia is also represented so you can be sure there will be many surprise guests. I grew up loving Disney and this is my favorite part of the show. Also I get to show my kids the characters I cherished most as a child.
The stars of today will be there as well. How about the stars of Inside Out debuting this year? That is going to be so neat to see the kids learning all about emotions and the difficulties of fighting for a hockey championship. This part of the show will be especially powerful and the music is fantastic.
We all know that Frozen is a huge part of the show, but Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff take on even bigger roles when they hit the ice. Disney truly knows how to showcase their characters and branding!
Toy Story too? You have to be kidding me.
Despite the characters and the Disney themes, we have to remember the incredible talent of the skaters. These folks are incredible and breathtaking and will no doubt leave you with a newfound respect for their profession. If you have never gone, do yourself and your family a favor. Go see Disney on Ice!
