Thank you Disney for inviting me to attend the #antmanandthewaspevent and hosting me down in LA for the press junket!Michael Douglas On Suiting Up in Ant-Man and The Wasp – #antmanandthewaspevent

Personally, if I were to think of one of the most iconic people to be sitting in a room with.. I would have to say Michael Douglas is number one! Growing up in the late 80’s and 90’s I was exposed to some of his best and most noted work….. again, in my opinion. When I think Michael Douglas, the first movies that come to mind are, Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction, A Perfect Murder, and Disclosure. So let’s just say, when he walked into the room… I think I may have had my first case of being star-struck.

For as iconic as he may be, I tell you, he was the most laid back and relaxed person to be around. You truly felt at ease with him, like you could hang out and talk for hours. I am sure his natural charisma, charm and EVEN BETTER in person good looks had nothing to do with it….. *wink – wink*

As Michael strolled into the room, he sat down and broke the ice with “Thank you very much. Good morning, class. We’re going to learn about quantum mechanics this morning.” What a fun way to start the morning!

How do you feel seeing the movie all come together?

To much of our surprise, when we asked Michael “How do you feel seeing it all come together?” he shot back with, “I haven’t seen it yet!” we were in complete shock, but he’s just cool like that and that’s how he rolls… lol! Michael mentioned that there is a lot going on, all in separate stages, there is the acting, the stunt guys and the green screens, but it all comes together to create Marvel magic.

“Our director Peyton was, he’s beaming. He looks excited, so that’s great.”

What was it like being reunited with the cast again?

Being that Michael Douglas was reprising his role as “Dr. Hank Pym” we asked him, What was it like being reunited with the cast again?

“There’s just an inherent relaxation and joy normally about a sequel. That’s why actors and actresses work together or directors works together, you don’t have to introduce yourself again, you know each other.

“I mean that combined with the fact that Paul is just a sweetheart. He’s just a great guy so it sets the tone.”

“I was excited for Evangeline because if you remember the end the first Ant-Man, I show her Janet’s suit and there’s this look in her
eye as Hope, when she sees her mother’s suit. But while I was looking at her when she was doing the scene, I saw Evangeline
going I’m going to be a superhero.”

While talking about the cast he didn’t leave out how it was to work with Michelle,

“Michelle was just such a treat. I mean i’m a tremendous Michelle Pfeiffer fan. Never imagined ever getting a chance to work with her. Needless to say, to play 30 years younger. So, that was great!”

What your reaction to seeing yourself looking young on the screen?

Now, honestly… I didn’t really notice a huge difference in them making him look 30 years younger in part of the movie….. that may be because, one… he ages very well and it is just not that notable to begin with and two, again my favorite movies of him are from the 90’s which would put him in that age bracket that I most know him for….. but to Follow up on that thought…. we asked him, What your reaction to seeing yourself looking young on the screen?

“It just cracks me up, you know, I’ve never done any of these pictures before. The last one was my first green screen film. I’ve got a whole new appreciation for actors who can act when there’s nothing there, you know. I mean it may be just basic bottom terrain but you’ll sit in these huge studios with green walls all around and Peyton telling you, okay, the asteroids coming in here. Look up here, this and that.  you’re afraid you’re going to be embarrassed. And then you see it put together and you realize they know what they’re doing.”

Was the science in the film tough for you?

Being that there was a lot of technical knowledge to this film, we asked Michael, “Was the science in the film tough for you?”

“Well, some, just getting your mouth around some of the words was hard. I can’t tell you that I graduated in quantum mechanics University,  But it’s fun. It’s just your sort of restricted in the freedom of what you can what you can’t say.”
What were your first impressions of walking on to set, the new lab?
“I’m was trying to remember, because last I remember, the PIM laboratory got demolished and the first one. But I must have put a lot of money away. And I’m thinking about all of this all this covert intelligence operations with countries stealing our secrets and this and that. So, I must’ve had some really high classified tools in there. I loved it, you know. It was absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful sets I’d ever seen. Our production designer, he’d done a fantastic job.”

Are you going to be suiting up in the next Avenger’s film?

And the big question we were all wanting to know…. Are you going to be suiting up in the next Avenger’s film?

“If I open my mouth, a blowgun–. It’s a marvel blowgun. I have learned my lesson. You have nothing. KGB has nothing on me.”

Enough, said… I guess we can all ponder that and make out own assumptions…. but no spoilers here, we will have to wait and see!
