The Walking Dead Season 7 – Five Possible Victims of Negan’s Bat

With The Walking Dead Season 7 starting to gear up and draw ever closer, the noise is starting up again about who Negan offed at the end of Season 6 with his trusty baseball bat. We know someone died that was a huge part of the story, but we haven’t a clue who. I have read all kinds of stories about who it might be, and the truth is, most people are looking at this from the wrong angle.

One thing that The Walking Dead is famous for is doing what is logical most of the time. That is what makes the show so powerful and unpredictable. Traditional television would have only the minor bit players bite the bullet for obvious reasons….star power and fan preference. The Walking Dead will kill anyone at any time.

So who do I think bit the bullet (or bat as it were)? I think we have to look through the evil eyes of Negan to decide. Pretend you are Negan and you face this group. Who would you kill? Let’s look at my most likely five suspects:

Daryl Dixon

Daryl jumps out to me because if I were Negan, he would be on my short list to kill. Why? He represents such a huge threat. Daryl has shown this group what he can do and Negan is surely aware of those talents. He could certainly be the one to die. Of course, fans all over the world would likely riot so there is that too.

Glenn Rhee

Virtually everyone on the planet is going with Glenn as the option and I just don’t see it. Although Negan is a vicious guy, I think he sees potential in Glenn. Glenn is also married to Maggie and I think he sees them as being under his thumb. Who is going to fight back when they have a child to think about? Remember, you are an evil man here!

Carl Grimes

The scraggly teen son of Rick Grimes could certainly be the one that Negan kills off. If he really wanted to make a huge splash, why not off the kid of the head honcho? I think it is far more likely he keeps Carl around though simply because Carl can be held as leverage against a dangerous but useful Rick.

Eugene Porter

Eugene might be smart, but he is a pain in the neck. He also has little to no common sense. I can see him being labeled as expendable and getting the bat. Eugene is my second most likely candidate and he is on a short list of people most likely to be taken out regardless. Then again, I have had him on that list since about two seasons ago.

Abraham Ford

Who do I think was killed at the end of season 6? Abraham himself. Why? Simply because it will create the most storylines and because if I was Negan, Abraham would represent the biggest physical threat. Abraham will create storylines with Sasha and Rosita as well as the standard storylines that come about when I major character is killed off. It just makes the most sense to me.
