Oh boy, here we are again…. it’s been back to school and that is the start of cold and flu season. Our family has a plethora of germs coming in…. I work part-time at a school, I have children spread across 3 different schools, my oldest daughter also works at a school (she is the one in charge of fevers and throw up buckets) and my husband who is a firefighter and goes on many calls to very sick people. This is why we created a “stay healthy” glovebox kit with items like tissue, sanitizer, Advil and Chapstick…. to keep us going strong, all year long.

I like to be prepared and ahead of the game. So, keeping our health up is very important. It seems like when you start getting sick, it rolls through the whole family… and in a large household like ours, that can feel like forever before we are all feeling better.

How to create a “stay healthy” glovebox kit

  • Drink plenty of water!!!! I know you hear it all the time but being hydrated will help keep the inside of your body in motion and you have better chance of flushing out germs.
  • Use hand sanitizer sparingly – Please use sanitizer when you know you have come in contact with an infected person or object but routinely using hand sanitizer throughout the day actually kills the good bacteria that helps you fight everyday germs.
  •  Get plenty of sleep – your body repairs itself when you sleep and build up your immune system. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night.walmart-advil-2
  • Keep Advil® Liqui-Gels® on hand – This is my go to pain relief product because nothing’s faster on tough pain (*Among OTC pain relievers. Use as directed)! You know the phrase mind over matter? Well, when I am starting to feel a little achy, or my head is starting to hurt. I immediately turn to Advil Liquid-Gels. How To Create A “Stay Healthy” Glove Box Kit #ad #Healthy4School
  • This medication is fast acting and allows me to regroup. I am a person that once I feel I might be starting to get sick, my body kinda freaks out and I start feeling all the symptoms. By stopping the initial pain or ache, I can now focus on treatment and prevention.walmart-advil-3
  • If you suffer from chapped lips keep Chapstick® on hand – I used to suffer from chapped lips but now I keep my lips hydrated with Chapstick®, it is like Skincare for lips™, it moisturizes & softens for smooth lips everyday. How To Create A “Stay Healthy” Glove Box Kit #ad #Healthy4School
  • Eat or Drink plenty of Vitamin C  – Eating fresh oranges or grapefruits will be your best source but if you can’t, drink a daily glass of OJ or use vitamin C tablets this will help boost your immune system.
  • Get plenty of exercise! Getting regular exercise helps boost and keep your immune system nice and strong.  Getting all of this exercise is another good reason to have Advil on hand.
  • Don’t share drinks or utensils – Since we are such a big family and super close, we are always sharing coffees, or food. But, do you know that before you even feel that first tickle or ache, you have probably already spread the germs to the next person.walmart-advil-4

With all of these tips and shopping at Walmart, I am hoping we can all have a happy and healthy school year. I know that if I do get sick, Walmart will be there for me 24hrs a day (select locations) and I can count on them to have the product on hand that I need and a price that will not make me feel “sick” to my stomach.

walmart-advilWhile you are there, make sure you grab your Advil® and Chapstick to keep on hand to help you stay healthy this school year.
