mom and baby

Everyone plays the role of mom a little differently. Some moms prefer to stay at home with their kids and put their careers on hold. Other moms want to keep working after they have kids. For a long time, it was assumed that these were the only two options. Today, many mothers are finding a middle ground that allows them to progress their career and be with their children.

Work from home moms seem to have it all figured out: extra income and career advancement while also having the opportunity to spend unlimited time with their kids. However, being a work from home mom is not always easy. These moms have the difficult task of finding time to do their work while still keeping their children out of trouble. These obstacles make it seem impossible for moms to get any work done from home. Here are some productivity tips for work from home moms.

Find a healthy distraction for the kids

Sometimes, work from home moms need not another set of eyes to watch their kids, but just a way to distract them while they get some work done. Moms can find a healthy and safe way to distract their kids for a while so they can work. Watching DirectTV and having craft time are just a couple good options.

Work while they sleep

Many people give new moms the advice to sleep while their baby sleeps. As the kids get older, moms can use the same idea to get work done while their kids sleep. This can be a great way to get some work done uninterrupted.

Make a schedule

Having a normal routine is great for kids and parents in a lot of ways. Moms can schedule in time that they will work every day, no exceptions. This can help everyone stay on track and be more productive.

Find something that is fun for the kids to help out with

Depending on what kind of work a mom does from home, she can sometimes have her kids help out. For example, a mom who works as a photographer can practice with her kids and have them help her pick out pictures to use. This can be a fun way for everyone to spend time together.

Work with other moms

There are a lot of other moms around the world who are working from home. Moms can meet up with other work from home moms to trade of babysitting, get new ideas or just socialize. This is a great way to build a network and gain support.

Save time by prepping daily meals

Moms spend a lot of time in the kitchen every day making food for the family. Moms can save this time by prepping some food for each week that the kids can easily grab on their own when they need a snack. This is a great way to save time and money and also keep everyone full and satisfied.
